EXPERIENCE / SEA TIME:

Presently sailing for the past several years as chief mate and relief master aboard vessels in the FSS (combination Ro/Ro Container) program.  I've been a licensed deck officer since June 1989, and have been sailing ever since March 1991.  I've also sailed aboard clean oil tankers, black oil tankers, cable ship, break bulk, and a VLCC.

EDUCATION: Graduated June 1989, BS Degree in Marine Transportation from the United States Merchant Marine Academy, Kings Point, NY 11024 

OTHER EXPERIENCE: From the time of my graduation until I went out to sea (1989 to 1991) I worked at the United States Merchant Marine Academy for Dartmouth College working full-time in the Computer Department designing and installing a computer network using fiber optics and twisted pair for all the dorm rooms. I also acted as software support for all students and faculty at the Academy.

Concurrently I also worked in the Executive Seminar Center operated by the United States Office of Personnel Management also located at Kings Point, NY as a computer consultant. I managed the computer accounts of all personnel and students at the location in a part-time capacity. (1988 to 1991)

Because of my computer experience (and hobby since 1980) I can repair computer equipment, I have proficient knowledge on most major business & engineering software titles, I can program in different computer languages. I have written stability & trim programs for most of the vessels I have been on, including the current vessel that I serve on.

My experience in both the Maritime and Computer industries will make me a valuable asset to any shipping company.
